Centex promises unique, affordable homes
Centex Homes' 50 years of homebuilding history is more than just a corporate tagline. It's the meat and potatoes behind its promise of a positive and affordable home buying experience for Utahns looking for a new first or second home. "There is a wide gamut of experiences new home buyers have to endure, many of which are not positive," said Peter DelMissier, president of Centex Homes in Salt Lake City. "But they can count on having a consistently informed and positive experience when they purchase a home from Centex Homes." Centex Homes proves that point which each homebuyer in its Utah communities. There are hundreds of home builders competing for business in Utah's housing market today. Centex Homes sets itself apart by exceeding the buyer's expectations. "We have always believed it to be our responsibility as the builder to educate Utah home buyers during the construction process and exceed their expectations," said DelMissier. "If we don't deliver on that promise, then we have failed." Failure has not been in the cards for Centex Homes. The company has successfully designed and built homes in seven communities along the Wasatch Front. It is currently building in four Utah communities, including Eagle's Gate and Kiowa Valley at The Ranches in Lehi, Jordan Hills in West Jordan and its newest community, Monarch Meadows in Riverton. Several communities, multiple home styles and endless floor plans to choose from, however, is just the beginning. Affordability is an equal part of the company's success, which is why Centex Homes is extending its "Zero Down Payment and Zero Closing Costs" promotion on select home sites. By partnering with FHA-approved down payment assistance programs, Centex enables buyers who may not have saved enough for a down payment to qualify for a loan and purchase a home. Centex Homes offers new homes for a wide variety of home buyers looking for single family homes priced from the $110's to the low $200's. In addition to affordable homeownership in beautiful neighborhoods, Centex Homes is treating each of its new home owners to some things that do not come standard in the buying process with other builders. Specifically, home buyers are educated about the construction of the home from the ground up. For example, buyers are invited to inspect the framing, electrical, HVAC and plumbing prior to the home being drywalled. The systems are explained to them by the field managers as the home is constructed, according to DelMissier. "The process is much more engaging for home buyers when they purchase a home with us," he said. "We keep them involved through the entire process, from the first model home tour and home site selection through every phase of construction and the final walk-through." "It's simply a much more intimate buying and building process that ultimately gives the homeowner a thorough working knowledge and a much greater understanding of the home they will be living in." This level of interaction between builder and homeowner might be compared more to the process of buying a luxury home than a first or second home. Centex Homes believes that an informed and educated buyer results in a more satisfied customer. "We want buyers who are highly satisfied and buyers that are extremely likely to recommend Centex Homes to their friends and relatives," says DelMissier. For buyers that are seeking a no-hassle, turnkey moving experience, Centex Homes is including a free washer and dryer, a free refrigerator, free blinds on every finished floor and free front yard landscaping on select homes that are ready for move-in. "Every day we deliver on our promise of a positive and affordable home buying experience, not only because 50 years of reputation and success depends on it, but because we believe that it is what makes us stand out in an industry plagued with the ordinary," DelMissier added.
